Open to opportunitiesHi, and welcome. I'm a Senior D365 Finance & Operations Developer and Technical Consultant at Delaware UK, based in Manchester. I've spent my career on the technical side of Dynamics — X++ development, Azure integrations, reporting, and the upgrade work that gets organisations off AX without losing the decade of business logic they've built up.
I've followed this product through every version since Axapta 4.0 in 2008, across implementations, integrations and reporting projects for clients in automotive, retail, manufacturing, distribution and aviation. I write up what I learn along the way.
What I do
Four things, in roughly the order I spend time on them.
Development
X++ and C#.NET across every version of Dynamics from AX 4.0 to D365 F&SCM. Extensions, custom entities, data providers, security policies. I write code intended to survive the next platform update, because I've been the one applying it.
Integration
Azure Logic Apps, Function Apps, Event Grid, API Management and Power Automate. SOAP and REST services, the Data Management Framework, recurring integrations, change tracking, Data Lake and BYOD — connected to SFTP servers, blob storage, legacy AS/400 systems, D365 Talent and CRM platforms.
Reporting
SSRS, Docentric AX, Power BI and Electronic Reporting. Data providers and contracts through to Word and Excel templates, embedded analytics workspaces, and the model and field mappings that make ER behave.
Upgrades
AX 2004, AX 2009 and AX 2012 R3 through to D365 Finance and Operations. This is the work most people avoid, and it's where the interesting problems are.
